How to Unlock Islands in MOUNT RNG
Spend Essence on keys that change the roll pool, not on scenery you will visit once.
Islands are the progress bar that does not depend on a jackpot. MOUNT RNG hands out badges the first time you enter Autumn Fields, Paradise Island, Frozen Reach, Celestial Peak, and The Magma Lair. Side spaces — Puppeteer Island, Community Island, Super Farm, and the secret island behind Azatoth — sit off that spine. This page is the unlock order and the spend logic. The island map is the atlas. How to farm Essence is how you pay for the keys.
The badge spine
Start in the lobby. Your first hour should still follow how to play: codes, free Luck, junk sold. When the shop shows a key, buy the next badge you do not have. The public badge list is the order TaleSun wants you to feel:
- Autumn Fields (often spelled Auntum in older badge text). First real field after the lobby. Learn the quest board and the sell habit here.
- Paradise Island. A warmer pool and a mental reset after the starter palette.
- Frozen Reach. Snow Guardians and colder combat show up in farm menus for a reason.
- Celestial Peak. Celestial Knights, a high vista, and the door into the dungeon.
- The Magma Lair. Not a scenic island. A lava dungeon under the Peak. Read how to beat Magma Lair before you treat it as a shortcut.
Each first entry awards a badge. That badge is a better progress marker than “my luckiest roll this month.” If you only chase one visual, you will underrate an account that has walked the whole spine.
Side islands and why they exist
Puppeteer Island, Community Island, and Super Farm appear in teleport lists used by farm hubs. They are real destinations, not script fiction. Super Farm is named like a job site because it is one: a place you go when the goal is Essence or materials, not a new biome screenshot. Community Island is social space. Puppeteer is a themed pocket. Unlock them when the spine is not starving for a key, or when a quest explicitly sends you there.
The secret island is a different sentence. It is tied to the Azatoth mount and the Against the Test of Time pass. Do not buy random keys hoping it drops out of the shop like Paradise. Use how to get Azatoth.
How keys are paid for
Keys cost Essence. Older community write-ups floated example prices for desert / ocean / sky style islands in the 15k–250k range. Those numbers drift with patches, so this wiki does not pretend a 2026 shop tag is eternal. Open the shop, read the current key, and fund that number with a convert batch. If a blog still says “Sky Island 100,000,” treat it as a lesson in order of magnitude, not a receipt.
Double Essences shortens the wait. A Luck potion does not. If you are staring at a key you cannot afford, you need junk mounts and quests, not Ultra Luck. That is the whole argument of the Essence guide, restated here because people try to roll their way into a door.
What changes when an island opens
The roll table shifts. New silhouettes appear. Mob families change — Archers and Miners early, Pirates and Snow Guardians later, Fire Knights toward the lava side. Shop stock can add potions or craft inputs you did not see in the lobby. Quests start pointing at the new field. Your tier list decisions should be remade on the new island; a “keep” from Autumn Fields can become fuel once Celestial Peak is online.
Walk the island once without a potion. Find the board, the shop, and the edge of the map. Then start a roll window with Luck stacked. First-time tourism and optimized farming are different modes. Mixing them is how you burn a bottle while looking at a waterfall.
A weekly unlock habit
TaleSun patches about every two weeks. New islands and mounts are the usual headline. After Update 50, check whether a new key appeared before you dump Essence into potions out of habit. The version history is enough context to see that the catalog grew from hundreds toward 700+ by expanding space, not by adding twenty commons to the starter grass.
If you use teleports from a farm script, still unlock the island legally first. A teleport into a locked badge is either a wasted click or a ban-shaped surprise. Earn the door, then automate the walk if you insist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What island should I unlock first?
The next badge you do not have on the spine: Autumn Fields, then Paradise, Frozen Reach, Celestial Peak, then Magma Lair.
Do I need a Game Pass to open islands?
No. Keys are Essence. The Azatoth secret is the exception and has its own pass and guide.
Is Magma Lair an island or a dungeon?
A dungeon under Celestial Peak. Unlock the Peak first, then read the Magma Lair guide.
Why can farm scripts teleport to islands I have not bought?
Menus list destinations. The server still expects you to own the unlock. Buy the key before you rely on a teleport.
