How to Play MOUNT RNG
A first-hour loop that turns random rolls into a collection with a next island.
MOUNT RNG is a Roblox collector from TaleSun Studios. You roll mounts, ride the ones you like, sell the rest for Essence, and spend that Essence on keys, potions, and shop tools. The fantasy is a dragon in the lobby. The actual game is a loop you can run badly for twenty hours or cleanly for two. This page is the clean version for a first session after the experience has already launched — it has been live since 25 August 2024, so there is no pre-create or wishlist step.
What you are trying to do in hour one
You are not trying to hit a 1-in-billions mount. You are trying to leave the first session with four things: every live code claimed, free Luck stacked, a small Essence pile, and a written next island. If you also happen to roll something rare, that is a bonus, not the plan. The Codes Hub and how to redeem handle the first item. The rest of this page handles the lobby.
The lobby loop
- Spawn and look left for Settings, inventory, shop, and the quest board. Controls maps those buttons for PC and mobile.
- Redeem codes before you touch the roll button. Equipping a free exclusive makes the rest of the hour feel like a game instead of a slot machine with a default horse.
- Roll a small batch. Common and uncommon mounts are fuel. Do not keep twelve near-identical commons because they “might be useful.” They are Essence.
- Open inventory. Equip the mount you actually want to look at. Disenchant or sell the rest using the rules on how to farm Essence.
- Buy nothing until you know the next island cost. The island map and unlock guide exist so the shop does not eat the key budget.
- Invite friends or hop into a populated server. Each friend in the same twelve-player instance adds +5 Luck that stacks. That is the cheapest upgrade in the game.
- Like the experience, join the TaleSun Studios group, and turn on notifications for the extra +20. Confirm the stack in the Luck calculator.
- Claim daily quests if the board is up. Repeatable quests are Essence on a timer.
Then you may roll again. The second batch is the first one that deserves a potion, and only if the free stack is on.
Rolling without turning your brain off
A roll has two outputs: a mount you will showcase, or a mount you will convert. If you treat every below-target result as wasted time, the game feels cruel, because most results are below target. Collection games pay you in catalog ticks and in shop currency. The tier list is there so you can decide keep versus sell in one glance instead of inventing a new rule every pull.
Named ultra-rares such as Yoru sit at odds that YouTube likes to flash as 1/4.6B. That number is entertainment. It is not a plan. Plan around islands and Luck. Celebrate Yoru if it happens.
Combat and exploration are not side content
The experience description is honest: you also explore islands and fight wild beasts. Badges exist for Autumn Fields, Paradise Island, Frozen Reach, Celestial Peak, and The Magma Lair. Those badges are a progress bar that does not depend on a jackpot. Walk the new island once after you unlock it. Learn the shop and quest board locations. Then farm. The Magma Lair guide waits until Celestial Peak is actually open.
Mobs you will hear about later — Archers, Celestial Knights, Miners, Pirates, Snow Guardians, Fire Knights — are Essence and material sources, not a separate action RPG. If a farm script lists them, that is because the map already does.
Friends, servers, and why solo is slower
MOUNT RNG is online. A twelve-player cap is small enough that a friend group can own the Luck bonus. Solo still works; it is just leaving +5 per friend on the table. If you cannot fill a server, join a busy public instance for the roll window, then hop to a quieter one for dungeon pathing. The Luck guide explains when that hop is worth it.
What to ignore on night one
Ignore Azatoth until you have read how to get Azatoth. Ignore Ultra Luck Roll until you know you will sit through a long window. Ignore every script until you have done the loop by hand once; otherwise you will not notice when a hub is clicking the wrong shop item. Ignore any site that still talks about the game as unreleased. It is not.
A closing checklist
Codes claimed. Exclusive equipped. Junk sold. Group joined. One island goal written down. That is a successful first session even if the rarest thing you rolled is a slightly shinier common. Come back through this Guides Hub when the next frustration is specific — Luck, Essence, islands, or the lava dungeon — instead of rereading the whole loop.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is MOUNT RNG free to play?
Yes. The experience is free on Roblox. Game Passes are optional Luck and Essence multipliers, not a gate.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Servers hold twelve players and each friend in your server adds +5 Luck that stacks.
What should I buy first in the shop?
The next island key if it opens a better roll pool. Potions come after free Luck is stacked.
How many mounts are in the game?
The official description lists more than 700 as of Update 50, with more added in the two-week cadence.
